Here's what you need to know: What’s Covered • Factory Limited Warranty applies to new Mercury outboards, sterndrives, and inboards. • Coverage includes defects in material or workmanship. • All engines come with limited corrosion protection (3 years standard; 4 years for MerCruiser SeaCore). • Some controls and rigging are also covered when installed with genuine Mercury Precision Parts. Warranty Period • Coverage starts from the date of first retail sale or first use—whichever comes first. • Warranty terms vary by product—check your specific model’s Warranty Chart. • Warranty coverage is non-declining—it doesn’t reduce with time or engine hours. Transferability • Warranty can be transferred between recreational users (but not from or to commercial users). Commercial Use • Commercial-use engines are covered for 1 year from sale or first use.
