Highest Compression Ratio Ever
In order to achieve the engineering target of producing 80 horsepower per litre from a 4.4L V6 engine, a 12.0:1 compression ratio was employed, the highest compression ratio ever featured on a production outboard engine. To avoid 'knocking' which can be a typical byproduct of a high compression engine, advanced systems were developed to mix cooler air with well-atomised fuel providing optimal conditions for a complete and controlled combustion.

Suzuki Dual Louver System, Direct Air Intake
Suzuki engineers have designed an air intake system that allows the engine to draw in ample fresh air, while separating out water, spray and moisture. Dual louvers under the hood trap larger water droplets and then moisture as it enters the engine cowling, resulting in zero water intake during testing. In addition, intake air temperatures are, on average, 10º cooler than ambient, providing the combustion chamber with cooler, denser air for a more powerful cycle.

Dual Injectors for Increased Cooling and Power
Two, smaller fuel injectors allow for precise injection of fuel to the centre of the combustion chamber, which avoids off-centre combustion - a major cause of knocking. In addition, because 100% of the fuel is injected into the cylinder at once, a degree of cooling is also obtained, providing up to 3% additional power without causing knocking.

3 + 3 years Recreational Warranty
All recreational/privately registered Suzuki Outboards come standard with 3-years / unlimited hours manufacturer's warranty. Recreational outboards are also eligible for a bonus 3-year Warranty providing that an authorised Suzuki Marine Dealership completes servicing as per the owners manual schedule. The Suzuki dealer must use only genuine parts and oils during both manufacturer's and bonus warranty periods.

Suzuki Troll Mode System (Optional Equipment)
Suzuki's Troll Mode system provides finer control over engine speed at low rpms to keep your boat moving at a constant speed while trolling. When the system is engaged, revs are controlled with an independent control switch that adjusts engine revs in 50rpm increments over a range spanning from idle to 1,200rpm. The system includes a control switch, which can be mounted nearly anywhere on the console, and a tachometer, and is compatible with Suzuki's SMIS digital gauges or the dual scale analogue gauges.

Suzuki's Lean Burn Control System
Suzuki's innovative Lean Burn Control System was first introduced on the DF90A/80A/70A to great acclaim from boaters and the media alike.
It predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions allowing the engine to run on a more efficient fuel mixture through the use of a lean air-fuel ratio. It delivers its benefits over a wide operating range, providing significant improvements in fuel economy from low-speed operation into the cruising range. Combining this system with the Suzuki Precision Control, electronic throttle and shift system, allows the operator precisely control to increase or decrease the engine RPM for improved fuel economy over a wider operation range. This combination also delivers smooth power transitions throughout the entire RPM range. In-house testing shows that while cruising, the DF300AP is 14% more economical than the original non-Lean Burn DF300 without sacrificing any power of the original DF300.

2-Stage Gear Reduction
The DF300B outboard also incorporates a 2-Stage Gear Reduction which results in a large reduction gear ratio. It delivers powerful torque for quick acceleration and great top-end speed.

Integrated Steering System
The conventional external hydraulic cylinder is built into the outboard motor. Simple appearance of the motorwell when rigging. Prevent from hitting the motorwell when tilting up. Allows rigging to various types of boats.

Suzuki Easy Start System
Starts are quick and easy with Suzuki's Easy Start System. No need to hold the key, just turn it once and the starter system stays engaged until the engine starts. The system delivers smoother and improved starts to get you up and running quicker.

Suzuki Keyless Start System
Suzuki's Keyless Start system utilises a proximity key fob that transmits an access code to the engine's starting system. As long as you have the key fob on your person, all you need to do is stand within one meter of the console, connect the emergency switch code, turn on the main switch, then start the outboard with a push of a button. With the key remaining safely in your pocket, the system offers simple, stress-free operation while reducing the risk of a lost key. The system also makes for an excellent theft deterrent since the outboard will not start without the proper access code. The key fob also floats so should it ever go overboard you can retrieve it.

Tilt Limit System
To protect the boat and motor from damage that can occur when tilting the motor, both outboards incorporate a user adjustable tilt limit switch that prevents the outboard from tilting beyond a predetermined point.

Multi-Stage Induction (MSI)
Getting the right amount of air into the cylinder has a great impact on performance. High-speed operation typically requires a greater volume of air, low-speed less. Suzuki's Multi-Stage Induction system meets these needs by utilising two intake manifold pipes per cylinder to ensure the engine gets the right amount of air. At low rpm, air enters the combustion chamber through a longer, curved manifold pipe designed to improve combustion and boost low end torque. As rpm increases, the valves open on the direct intake pipes. Shorter and lacking resistance, these pipes allow a greater volume of air into the chamber, increasing the engine's ability to breathe efficiently at high rpm resulting in higher power output during high-speed operation.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT)
Suzuki's engineers designed the 4.4-liter V6 engine with an aggressive cam profile that delivers maximum output and performance at high rpm. In coupling this cam profile with Suzuki's advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT), the DF350A delivers the additional torque that outboards need for accelerating in the low to midrange. VVT achieves this by adjusting the timing of the intake valves, allowing them to open before the exhaust valves are fully closed, creating a momentary overlap in the timing where both sets of valves are open. Using VVT, this overlap can be increased or decreased by altering intake timing with the camshaft resulting in optimum timing for low and mid-range operation.

Suzuki Water Detecting System
Water in the fuel can be the source of poor combustion, lower power output, and corrosion. To help protect the engine from moisture in the fuel, a water detecting fuel filter is fitted to alert the operator with both visual and audio warnings when water is present in the fuel.

Suzuki Precision Control (Electronic Throttle and Shift)
Suzuki Precision Control is a technologically advanced computer-based control system that replaces the mechanical control cables found in conventional control systems with electronic wiring that eliminates the source of friction and resistance. While you enjoy smooth, little friction throttle and shift operation, the system's computer is processing and transmitting commands in real-time to actuators at the engine that deliver precise throttle controls with smoother, decisive shifting. This is most evident in the low rpm range where operation is noticeably smooth and accurate.

When combined with Suzuki's Lean Burn Control System it allows control of fuel and air flow to boost the limit of the controllable revolution range improving fuel economy over a wide operating range. Suzuki Precision Control also features built-in systems that help guard the engine and drive against damage due to mishandling, and its design and simple wiring make installation easy, reducing the time required for rigging and adjustment. The system offers precision control for single, twin or triple installation as well as dual station operation.

Configurable with up to 6 outboards including dual station.

Offset Driveshaft
Suzuki outboards are among the most compact outboards in their respective classes.
That's due in part to our proven offset driveshaft system. This design places the crankshaft in front of the driveshaft through the use of intermediate gear reduction. In addition to providing an increase in power performance and adding to the compactness of the outboard, this system moves the outboard's centre of gravity forward, resulting in better weight distribution and balance, better directional stability, and less vibration.

Dual Water Inlet
Dual water inlet is a technology developed to cool the engine with minimal friction loss, using a combination of a small water pump and dynamic water pressure. Conventional outboards have water inlets on the side of the strut of the gear case. However, at very high speed, the water pressure at the strut surface is reduced, making it difficult to maintain stable water suction. The DF300B has water inlets on the tip of the gear case, which helps with water suction even when there is dynamic pressure caused by the movement of the gear case through the water.

Dual Prop System - a true revolution in propellers
Suzuki's engineers know that the lower unit shape and propeller design has a critical impact on performance. The innovative contra-rotating propeller design provides more grip underwater and also helps to achieve a smaller, and far more hydrodynamic gear case. It does this by distributing the engine's torque evenly over two propellers, so that the torque per propeller is decreased enabling the gear diameter to be reduced. A new three-blade/three-blade propeller set up has been developed to provide incredible acceleration and high performance. In testing, this configuration recorded high speeds even under heavy load and at high rotation speeds. The propeller blade geometry has also been optimised to work in the new configuration resulting in incredible grip and acceleration across the rev range. One of the most remarkable benefits is exceptional directional and transverse stability which is achieved by each propeller rotating in different directions, to balance the turning.

Anti Corrosion Finish
Suzuki's Anti-Corrosion Finish is specially formulated to increase the durability of the engine and help protect parts of the aluminium exterior that are constantly exposed to fresh and saltwater. This advanced finish offers maximum bonding to the outboard's aluminium surface, creating an effective treatment against corrosion.

Self-Adjusting Timing Chain
The timing chain runs in an oil-bath, so it never needs lubricating, and is equipped with an automatic hydraulic tensioner, so it remains properly adjusted at all times. Simple, effective and maintenance-free.
